Boeing improved the cruise speed of the 747-300 to Mach 0.85 from Mach 0.84 comparing it with the -100 and -200 but it has the same takeoff weight. The first customer to order this aircraft on June of 1980 which was delivered on March of 1983. The first flight took place on October of 1982.
