The Hawker Siddeley HS 748 is considered a medium-sized turboprop airliner initially developed by Avro way back in the late 1950s to replace the old DC-3s. Avro focused on performance in the development of this model.
The initial 748 development started in the year 1958 to compete with Fokker F27 Friendship.
The initial flight of Hawker Siddeley HS 748 was on June of 1960 and the first delivery was to Skyways Coach-Air although most deliveries were to Aerolíneas Argentinas.
