The Fokker 100 is considered a medium size twin-turbofan airliner manufactured by the Fokker company. The sales were high from this model because of almost no competition at all in the 100 seat configuration and there is a low operational costs. It was launched on 1980.
Its design was introduced in 1983 as an modernized substitute for Fokkers famous, but outdated F28 Fellowship model. Although most of the parts from the two airplanes are not the same, the Fokker 100 was granted a FAA certification as the Fokker 28-0100. The most distinguishable distinction was the extended fuselage, which in effect increased seating by from 65 to 107 (65% ) in a 3x2 single-class composition. The Fokker 100 also launched a new wing design for the that they say was 30% more efficient in travel. The powerplants were also enhanced to the new Rolls-Royce Tay turbofans.
There were 2 Fokker 100s made, the first is PH-MKH which has an initial flight on November of 1986 and the other one was PH-MKC which ahs initial flight on February of 1987.
