The initial version of the 767-200 was launched in 1978 and initially operated by United Airlines in 1982. This version is used primarily for continental routes like the route from New York City to Los Angeles. Just last year, American Airlines burn an average of 15,982 gallons of jet fuel for its trip from New York to Los Angeles.
This aircraft is considered a medium to long range wide body airliner. It is the narrowest wide body in service. The development of the aircraft features a great level of international participation in which Japanese companies had large contribution of construction.
Its variants are 767-200ER, 767-300, 767-300ER, 767-300F, 767-400ER.
