The Boeing 737 is considered a short to medium range, single aisle, narrow body jet airliner. Initially designed as a smaller, reduced cost twin engine airliner which is a resultant from Boeing's 707 and Boeing 727, the 737 has 9 models.
The aircraft was initially conceptualized in 1964 and it started operation in 1968. After 40 years later it turns out to be the most ordered and produced commercial passenger jet worldwide. Since 1967, there were over 8,000 ordered in which 5,857 has been delivered as of 2008.
