The Boeing 727 is considered a mid-size, narrow-body, three-engine, T-tailed commercial jet airliner. The initial flight took place in 1963 and for over 10 years, it was the most manufactured commercial jet airliner in the world. Deliveries of this aircraft was 1,831.
The 727 was developed to be operated at smaller regional airports. The 727-200 was a extended version of the 727-100. A 10 feet fuselage was added in front of the wings of the aircraft. Its speed was improved by 50 mph. Its certification was awarded in November of 1967. It has started operation in the following by Northeast Airlines which was later acquired by Delta.
